Over the Top 8
==============

This movie is about Hawk and his son Mike. Mikes mother is sick in California
and Hawk and Mike take the old red tractor trailer on a long cross country trip.
Hawk picks Mike up at a strict military school. Its a sunny graduation day.
Everyone looks at Hawk, seeing that he is only a blue collar worker.

Hawk has not seen his son in many years. Mike has been living with his
grandfather, a rich and powerful man. However Mike is forced to go with his Dad
and travel to California.

I love the banter that Mike and Hawk have in the truck.
Mike slams the arm -lifting weights down in the truck.

"Theres more to life than just muscles!" Mike says.
"Meaning what?" says Hawk
"Meaning, I dont see any books, you dont read much do you?"

"The average IQ of an adult is at age 15, just 3 years older than me."

"Are you aggravated?" asks Mike.
"Boy, I passed aggravation about a mile back"
"Are you going to get violent?" Mike asks nervously
"Would you give me a break?"

"You know Mike, since I must be abnormal to drive a truck, I want to see
you, a genius like you should have no problem."

"What????"
"Drive!, genius"

Hawk stops the truck and goes over to the other side and Mike goes into
the drivers seat. Mike tries all the buttons but cant start the truck.
Hawk shows him the silver button "Magic!, ready Captain Dune-Buggy?"

I love it when mike is driving the truck down the road, thats great stuff.
"Look out, here comes Mike!"

In this movie Hawk tells his Mike, "the world meets no one half-way,
do you understand me Mike? the world meets no one half-way. You want something,
you have go out and take it"

The song "Over the Top, Meet me Halfway" is truly a great song.
As you can see it is in my MP3 list.

Nine Deaths of Ninja 9
=======================

It has been many years since I have seen the movie, so I cannot quote or
remember much.

Almost every action scene was cool in this movie!

The opening when all the ninjas attacked the house in Japan.

When the bad ninja dropped from the ceiling and threw 2 knives,one into each
hitmen..now that was cool.

The building fight between Sho Kosugi and the bad ninja is the best martial arts
fight scene in movie history.

I love when Sho Kosugi threw the knife, the bad ninja caught it turning it sideways,
the flash of the sun on the blade. When I was 18, I thought that was the coolest thing.
Now that Im 36, what do I think? I still think it was the coolest thing!

Of course the high 9 rating is for action only.
I mean this is no Schindlers List.

Beavis and Butthead Do America 8
=================================

When Beavis is standing at the back of the tour group at Hoover Dam, then yells
"Is this some kinda god dam?......"Is this some kinda god dam?"

When the teacher was gently singing "Lesbian Seagulls" on his guitar to the class,
and the ATF come smashing in through the door knocking him flying. Hilarious.

"Go deep, Im talking roto-router."

"You know the guy whose shed those kids were wacking off in?" says Bork.
"Bork, you an employee if the United States government. You never end a sentence in a
proposition."
"Okay Chief. you know the guy whose shed those kids were wacking off, er,
the guy whose shed those kids were wacking off?

Batman I 8
===========

This was by far and away the best Batman movie. Dark and sinister.
It is the most watchable even today of all the Batman movies.
Micheal Keaton is a way better Batman than any that followed.
Val Kilmer? Give me a break.
I can identify better with a dark and reclusive Batman.

Arrival, The 9
=================

"What are they doing here Chare?"

"Anyone going to get fired for this Gordy?"

"Would you like me to show you the ruins my friend?"

"Right, left, goes both ways"

"Like I said Zane, you didn't know the half of it."

Ace Ventura, Pet Detective
==========================
Wellll...allrightyyyyy then!!!!

Ace Ventura, The Call of Nature
===============================
I love it when he knocks out the monopoly man and carries him around the room.
The eggs in the mouth gag is too funny.
The first time I saw him birth himself out of the fake rhino with the tour
group watching, I was cracking up..
When he is driving the monster truck 50 miles an hour across the jungle,
and leans out the window, looks down and says "Demi, from the consulate, right?"

The Cable Guy
=============
CCCCCCCCCCAAABBBBLLEEEE GGGGUUUULLAAA as he rams headfirst into the door...
The super basketball jam, with glass falling all over the floor, spits out the mouth guard
"I love this game!"

I like the Medieval scene. Was this the Medieval theme restaurant in Toronto?
As Chip and

"They had no silverware in Medieval times, hence no silverware"
"They had to silverware, but they had Pepsi?"
"Dude, I got a lot of tables."

Adventures of Ford Fairlane
===========================
Actually most people hated this movie, but it has some good places in it, for a
Mr. Rock-n-Roll detective. I like the flaming moes.

The African Queen
=================
"I tell you miss, there's death a dozen times down that river!"

I watched the movie and the years later read the book. And even the White Hunter/Black
Heart related movie. I liked the book even more than the movie.

Apollo 13
=========
When he knelt down on the moon, on one knee grabbed the moons gravel and looked at the
earth.

Like most people, I liked the first time watching this in the theater, and waiting for the module to appear, 4 minutes and waiting...Then it appears with all its parachutes.

Cannonball Run
==============
This is a great movie!

My favorite is the bloopers at the end of the movie when Dom Deluise cant
stop laughing. As soon as he opens the vans door, he laughing before he starts
his lines, then everyone starts laughing.

Another fav, is when Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Dom and Burt are trading
insults in the middle of the highway. "He can do that? He can do that!"

I also like the fade away shot of the hotel at the end of the movie with
the nice music.

Every which way but loose
=========================

"Scrape the caddy Cylde"
"Dead Meat Bedoe!"
"We deserve those tickets!"
I like when the old lady knocks out the peeping Tom, then prays to Jesus. When the
motel owner wakes up, she says to him she says "that was just a little tickle to loosen you up.."

My favorite scene is when the cops pull over the motorcycle gang on the highway
after their trip through the tar machine, and they are all wearing terrible wigs.
The cops can barely hold their laughter till they fall into their cruiser.

Shawshank Redemption
====================
"Get busy living or get busy dying"

=================
Curly Sue
1987, John Hughes
==================

My favorite movie of all time is Curly Sue. This is truly one great movie.
I have watched this movie like 25 times. I could recite the dialog word for
word and scene by scene.

The reason i like this movie so much is because it tells a great story. The
movie moves from one perfect scene to the next. It is a romantic comedy.

===============
The CrossRoads
===============

"Well, if it isnt the Great Long Island Blues Man!"

"Now. I don want no bullshit about papers or registration!"
"Well Sir, thats a mighty fine Cadillac there."

"You know the language Im talking?"

"Hellhounds on your trail Willie Brown!, Hellhounds on your trail!"

A new blue Camaro rolls down the dusty road. Its not the devil
but one of his minions.

"I aint riding with the likes of you. Or your bitch either."

As the car disspears in a cloud of dust, Willie and Lightning Boy are
at the CrossRoads and the devil comes walking down the country road looking
every bit a Southern gentleman.

"Its been a long time Willie Brown!"
"You sloughed off on your side of the bargain, I never got what I wanted."
Willie says of his deal with the deal struck all those years ago on this same CrossRoads.

"Aint nothing the way we want it!" the devil says angrily, but then immediatly
is smiling again "but thats no reason to break a deal"

The three talk about a new deal, a guitar contest.

"And what if my boy Jack Butler wins?"
"Then you get me" Willie says.
"I already got you!" The devil says.

"Where and when for this thing?" says Lighning boy
Oh, I can get us there real quick". The sky turns dark and the clouds move fast. Suddenly
they are in a large wood hall in the Deep South. The best guitar playing I have ever
seen or heard comes next. Stevie Vai is the best guitar player I have ever seen.

Did Stevie Vai ever strike a deal with the devil to be able to play like that?

===========
The Matrix
===========

=================
Demolition Man
=================

The reason I like this movie so much is because it is so well produced, right
from the opening graphics and credits. when the building blew up, in the theater
with the Dolby sound on super loud, it was like an explosion in the theaters.

=================
Total Recall
=================

I first watched Total Recall at the Uptown Theaters in Toronto in the dog days of
the summer in the late 80s. About 8pm, the sun still out, the theaters side doors open,
and then the yellow and red graphics roll with some great theme music that shakes the theater. The place was packed and cheering. It was so cool.

=================
The Fisher King
=================

On a rainy night, watch this movie.

I like when they were walking around after the dinner date, and Perry and his date
are talking.

I have lived in New York, and everyday had to go through Grand Central to get
to work. I never found it anything but an obstacle course.

"Yeah, but we mostly publish just trashy romance novels"
"Dont say that, there's nothing trashy about romance"
Then Perry puts a tiny silver chair he has been making into her palm and says
"besides, you can find some pretty great things in the trash"

Then they are standing outside on the sidewalk in the dark, Perry is getting his goodnight kiss.

At the end when Perry wakes up from his coma, Perry and his girl embrace and Jack is
leading the patients in a Gershwin tune. The sun shining through the windows. Beautiful.

Then Jack goes back to his girl and they kiss.

=================
BladeRunner
=================

=================
Scarface
=================

=====================
The Neverending Story
=====================

The first time I saw this movie I think I was 17. We were at a friends house
and we were all fully toasted. I mean truly fully baked, barely able to talk.
Then this movie comes on and everybody "moves inside the movie" like a group
surrealistic out of body experience.

=====================
The Princess Bride
=====================

Inconceivable!

=====================
Casablanca
=====================

I was never too sold on Casablanca. I must have seen it about 6 or 7 times.

=========================
Treasure of Sierra Madre
=========================

=========================
White Hunter Black Heart
=========================

==========================
Tarzan, Legend of Greystoke
