Living in Toronto

I think living in Toronto Canada is okay. The only problem is the cold that starts
in November and stays for 6 or 7 months, sometimes till May. The layout of the city
is good. The is a low gradual drop to Lake Ontario, noticeable only if you go North-South.
If you live East-West you dont noticed it.
The downtown core is very well placed. I have lived in many American cities and Toronto
is the city easiest to navigate and get around town. Get a bike because the car traffic is bad,
like any large city.
The taxes in Toronto are worse than any American city. So dont work here unless you have to.
The quality of living here is pretty good, and it better be, for the income tax rate.
Crime is almost non-existent here. I remember being in some American cities, you even look at
someone the wrong way, and it could get you killed. And I don't mean maybe. I remember riding
the New York MTA subway everyday to work, and it was like something out of Mad Max.
There are some New york subway stops, you dont EVER step out on, even on a sunny mid-day.
I look at the subway cars here in Toronto, and its like they just rolled off the assembly line.
Those cars are probably 10 or 20 years old.
One thing I will say, is that Canadian have little respect for authority, like the justice system
and the police. In the United States, it is like a police state, and if you cross them you'll wish
you hadn't.
I guess thats because American cops are no-nonsense. Its they're way right now, or its guns out,
on the ground, then we'll take you back to the station and beat the shit out of you for a few days.
I must say, altogether, living in Toronto isn't too bad.
However, there are nicer places in New Orleans I know, or the green outskirts of Memphis, or even
some real nice places by the ocean in Florida with white sand and shallow warm blue water.
